To Scarf or Not to Scarf

Life is not ALL about fashion, but it is certainly important… I mean, we can’t walk around naked, can we? BUT with fashion comes accessories. Some people are VERY into accessories, and some are not. By accessories I mean: scarves, jewelry, and purses to match the shoes. Today, I will talk about scarves.

Scarves have become very fashionable lately. They are not just to keep people warm in the winter time. Scarves are that extra fabric that lays just so elegantly around the neck. Scarves come in many colors, patterns, and fabrics. Personally, I have a wide variety of scarves from which I choose from.

There are even many ways to wear the scarves. People just wrap them around a few times, tie them into knots and then wrap them around like a circle around their necks, or some just let them hang open in the front. I found a web site that explains the many ways to wear a scarf:

It is amazing what one can do with a small piece of fabric, just to enhance their look. I am all for wearing scarves! There are even web sites and YouTube videos about how to tie a scarf.

I just looked up the history of scarves, and it turns out that scarves might have began in Egypt in 1350BC. That is amazing to me! This look has been around for hundreds of years?! The Chinese also have figures of women wearing scarves from 1000 BC. Incredible.

I guess that scarves have been around for a long time to enhance the style. Sometimes people can wear just a plain old outfit, say a t-shirt and jeans and Converse, and add a scarf to it, just to make the outfit more stylish. I have seen it! I have done it! So, go out and buy that scarf to enhance your plain and boring look, just like the Egyptians.

“Money doesn’t buy elegance. You can take an inexpensive sheath, add a pretty scarf, gray shoes, and a wonderful bag, and it will always be elegant.” – Carolina Hererra
